CHAIN REACTION
(c)1995-1996 Mace Software, Inc.
Version 2.0
November 14, 1996
HISTORY
11-14-96 Version 2.0
- Added "Abort New Chain" by pressing just enter. This
solves the program crash for sysops reviewing new chains
when a user entered a blank line in the new chains.
- Added setting in CHREIBBS SETUP to try and address those
mailers that are not honoring the KFS flag. See CHREIBBS.DOC
**** Y O U M U S T R E R U N CHREIBBS SETUP!!! ****
- Added new command line parameter for CHREIBBS. It is BOTH.
CHREIBBS BOTH will run inbound then outbound.
- Changed file naming system to try and prevent transmission
errors caused by duplicate filenames.
10-05-96 Version 1.99
- Corrected IBBS bug that caused HOF processing of the wrong
day.
09-02-96 Version 1.98
- While in InterBBS mode, all new word chains are now reviewed
by league coordinator prior to acceptance to database. They
will still be reviewed by the originating systems
designated reviewer. This will hopefully put an end to dupes
as well as really bad chains getting through.
- CHREIBBS.EXE now logs all errors to file CHREIBBS.LOG
- Sysop defined game bulletins no longer require the .ANS and
.ASC extentions. You may use what you like. ie BULL75.BBS,
BULL6, etc... REGISTERED VERSION ONLY.
- Added time left display to remote display.
- Added duplicate chain checking to New Chain review.
- Added a spell checker to the New Chain Review routine.
- Added option that allows sysops to designate a user
to review new chains. Should help busy SysOps.
YOU MUST EDIT the CHREACT.CFG !! See SAMPLE.CFG
- Added option to allow new chain reviewer to (E)dit submitted
chain as well as (A)ccept or (R)eject it.
- Added utility SYSOP.EXE This is now the program to review
new chains. It is called from game automatically when the
designated reviewer logs out of game. Can also be run from
dos prompt.
- Cheat Fix. Fixed cheat where player could take extra
turns via Make Up Days on last day of month.
- Added PLAY AHEAD TURNS. REGISTERED VERSION ONLY.
- Cheat Fix. Game now records the play and increments to the
next chain at the beginning of play instead of during
score calculation. Fixes cheat where players get almost
to end of puzzle, then drop carrier and play same chain
on next logon.
- Game is now capable of running simultanously on more than
one node. Game no longer uses INUSE.FLG for single node
locking. You may find it necessary to load DOS Share.
- Removed the OUTDOOR system. This was needed to free up
program memory space for added features. From what I could
tell, few, if any systems were using this option anyway.
08-03-96 Version 1.97
- Corrected problem in IBBS module that caused problems
when running other Mace Software doors interbbs.

Leaque coordinators system only.
